Ephesians 2:5

If the "But God" wasn't enough, Paul reminds us of what we were like before. Even when we were like what we used to be, we were saved. Even though we were dead, he made us alive. This being made alive is something that is done together with Christ. God raised Christ from the dead, and we are raised with him. It is also added that we are saved by grace. This is brought up again in verses 8 and 9, but I guess Paul couldn't help saying it now.
