Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor.
(v6, NIV)
Instruction from the word can be anyone who teaches you something from the word. The bible is from God, so teaching from God also counts. The first and foremost key instruction we receive in our walk is at the beginning of our walk with Jesus. There is someone in particular who led you to Christ. This dear person was obedient to God and did what the followers of Jesus are instructed to do. Followers of Jesus are instructed to preach the gospel to others.
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
(Matthew 28:16-20, NIV)
This is the great commission. At the very end of the book of Matthew, Jesus is here speaking to the disciples. This is after he has been resurrected and he instructs them. We are to make disciples of all the nations.
Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its grapes? Who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk? Do I say this merely from a human point of view? Doesn't the Law say the same thing? For it is written in the Law of Moses: "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain." Is it about oxen that God is concerned? Surely he says this for us, doesn't he? Yes, this was written for us, because when the plowman plows and the thresher threshes, they ought to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest. If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you? If others have this right of support from you, shouldn't we have it all the more?
(1 Corinthians 9:7-12, NIV)
In this passage, Paul is making a point about his right to be supported physically by those he preaches to. He uses analogies like the one of a soldier or a vineyard. It only makes sense that if he plants spiritual things, he should also reap material things.
Even though in the next verse (1 Corinthians 9:13), Paul tells us that he has not made use of this right, it is still a right we can make us of. At the very least, it is a requirement on the one who received instruction from the teacher to give back to the teacher. One aspect in which we are to share good things with them is in their physical needs.
Now, aside from the person who preached to you, there are people who teach you from the word. This may not be instruction on the gospel at your conversion, but simply anything biblical. The most common person that I think everyone can relate to is the pastor. We go to church and listen to the sermon. I'd hope that in your walk with God you'd receive teaching from not just the pastor, but it's a weekly thing so maybe most common for most people. However, sometimes a dear friend will teach me something through the word, and hopefully I will apply it to my life. Sometimes I will go back to the person who taught me this instruction from the word and I will share my experiences with them. This is one way the verse in Galatians 6 applies to us.
