Galatians 5:22-26

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

(v22-23, NIV)

Here Paul lists out the fruit of the Spirit. Fruit seems to imply a singular fruit. Though it's true that the word 'fruit' can be plural, I think it is meant to be singular. If the word fruit is singular, then the fruit Paul is describing seems to imply the whole package. He is listing a number of different things, but the fruit he is referring to is singular. This seems to imply that those living by the Spirit will bear fruit, and the fruit they bear is every single one of the things that Paul lists. So, if you're missing one then you aren't producing the fruit of the Spirit and are not living by the Spirit. If you live by the Spirit, we will produce these fruit. This is in direct contrast to the works of the flesh listed in verses 19-21.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

(v24-25, NIV)

Paul was previously explaining to them that it is not by the law that we are justified, but by grace through faith in Jesus. This moving away from the law may have caused a few people to question whether living the way Paul instructs should lead them to ignore the law and go on sinning. Paul seems to address that here. Jesus was crucified on the cross and died for our sins. If we are followers of Christ, we belong to him. In the same way that he laid down his life for us, we also have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Upon leaving our past life and doing away with our flesh, we live by the Spirit.

Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

(v26, NIV)

Paul gives one last final reminder to not go back to the ways of the flesh. This may a common occurrence for people to become conceited because of the fruit they are producing. In living by the Spirit and producing fruit, we may think of ourselves as higher than others. This is in contrast to the fruit of the Spirit, and it is in line with the acts of sinful nature.
