I had an interesting chapel this morning. the speaker told us an interesting polls. He said that most people desire to go to Bible college is simply draw closely to God. But the polls shows that most student coming out of bible college actual grew more distance from God.
maybe it the going to chapel everyday causing apathy. or maybe it the all the studying about God and such, if I study about God all day then who cares about my spiritual life. Or even the opposite Try striving for spiritual life but fail in studies and that puts you in a rough situation.
I idea behind this is that your studies, secular or not is infused in your spiritual life. According to Warfield a brilliant theologian and professor at Princeton long time ago challenge us that our studies is our worship and at the same time our devotion is to our worship. You cannot have one with out the other.
So the challenge is how does your worship looks like in your life?
some practical tips:
-set apart study with prayers>where can God take you in your studies?
-return to Him along the way>after a hard days work come back to Him
-rest him when things get out of hand
-Come with a sense of humility humbleness that you don't everything
-your GPA don't give you the right to say your are more spiritual or better
