First Paul begins telling about his trip to Troas. It was interrupted when he felt uneasy and went to find Titus.
This chapter ends with something similar to 1 Corinthians chapter 1.
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
(1 Corinthians 1:18, NIV)
This is something that is awesome for those who are being saved, but rubbish to those who aren't being saved. In the same way, this fragrance is the smell of life as well as the smell of death.
For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task?
(v15-16, NIV)
We are this potent aroma. This aroma is for those being saved and those who are perishing. We don't try to pick and choose and play God as to who are being saved or not. How could we know? It is simply for both the saved and those who are perishing.
With us being this aroma, let us spread and be an aroma to everyone.
