Genesis 4 -- Why we get frustrated on doing right?

Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it." Genesis 4:6-7

The first sin after Adam and Eve got kicked out from the gardens was Cain who killed his brother Abel because he was jealous to the Lord that He didn’t not look at his favour of offering.

I started to wonder, if the Lord was “smart” enough, why didn’t He looked at both Cain and Abel, so that Cain won’t be jealous. Why He did so? What message He is trying to give?

Sometimes, you might have done a lot of things that are not recognized by other people, and even sometimes you might FEEL that God seems doesn’t recognized your work as well. But God told us that we shouldn’t look for recognition. We shouldn’t be angry or frustrated. If you do what is right, you will be accepted! Getting recognized OR seeing the result of the work is NOT the end goal of work, but this is what we supposed to do, because this is the consequences of sin. But through doing, we will see and experience God.

We also need to have a expectation that we WILL get frustrated, because this is how sin work. Sin desires to have you, but we MUST master it.

"God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability" 1 Corinthians 10:13
