2 Corinthians 12:1

I must go on boasting. Though there is nothing to be gained by it, I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord.

(2 Corinthians 12:1, ESV)

Paul is going to continue boasting. But it is somewhat confusing as to why there is nothing to be gained by it. Or rather, why would he continue if there is nothing to be gained by it?

For the Kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power.

(1 Corinthians 4:20, ESV)

He says it himself that God's kingdom is in power and not talk. His talking doesn't really mean anything in a sense. We can talk about all sorts of things, but it doesn't really matter until we actually do those things we talk about, or those things come to pass. But I guess for now, he is doing what he can through this letter.

This boasting continues to show me that Paul is willing to sink to their level in order to somehow appease them through means they can understand.
