Why is God not even in the picture? Perhaps this is the heart of the problem: boasting in arrogance. These people who plan to spend a year in a city to make money are arrogant and are boasting in that. They aren't boasting in God, but are only relying on themselves; they're even proud in their self reliance. Why do people do such a thing? It certainly feels good to boast and to feel good about yourself. However, it's also sometimes made out to be a positive thing in this society. Self-confidence is not viewed as a bad thing, but it is viewed as a good thing typically. However, if this leads to boasting in arrogance, such boasting is evil.
