Ephesians 2:16-21

and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.
-Ephesians 2:16-21

Maybe I should've just continued on for a few more verses last time.  Oh well, let's continue.

Obviously, Paul is still talking about this whole Jew and Gentile thing and what Jesus did.  I think what's interesting to note is that peace is preached to both.  It's not as if the Jews had it all.  Peace is preached to both and both have been reconciled to God.

Paul once again reminds the Gentiles of their past state and their present state, "So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God".  The point to remember in this joyous news is that Jesus is the center of attention "Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone".  We remember that it is not by our works, but grace through faith that we are saved.  There is this new idea or image of "the household of God".  We are members of God's household and Jesus is the cornerstone.  We once again see the centrality of Christ in this image.  Apart from Christ, we cannot be members of the household of God.
