Since cleansing from what is dishonorable will allow one to be a vessel for honorable use, we are to now flee youthful passions. What's interesting is that it doesn't just end at fleeing youthful passions. Not only are we to flee youthful passions, but also we are to pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. It's not that we simply drop and run away from "bad things" like youthful passions, but we are to move towards something else, like righteousness.
